A
Brief History of the King James Bible
|
|
The
KJV Bible was originally translated in 1611 by
forty-seven scholars who were commissioned by
King James himself, who belonged to the Church
of England, as a means to bring a modernized and
accurate translation of the Holy scriptures to
the people. Since the middle of the 17th
century, the King James Bible has been
considered the authorized version of the
scriptures for English speaking nations around
the world and has been translated into over
1,200 foreign languages

How
can the Bible help me?
|
|
Think
of the Bible online this way - as a love letter from
your Creator that spans generations and defies
all the rules of time. A letter comprised of 66
individual books forming one gloriously long and
hopeful account of His promises, penned by His
own team of scribes and personal assistants, or
prophets. He cared so much about you that He
handpicked each one of them, making certain they
could relay His message that would stand the
tests of time. What an amazing endeavor!
As
the Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, <blockquote
cite="https://www.youversion.com/bible/1/2ti.3.kjv">“All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly
furnished unto all good works.”</blockquote>
As
you read
the Bible online, imagine your Savior
sitting right next to you and actually speaking
these words that were written over a millennia
ago, just for you, to encourage you and give you
hope.

The
Bible can protect you
|
|
The
scriptures were not just meant for encouragement
or to lift us up. They were also meant to equip
us to go into battle. We do not face mere
worldly or physical threats in our lives, but we
are waging a war in the spiritual realm as well.
Paul, a devoted Apostle of Jesus Christ, wrote a
majority of the New Testament, and warned us in
many accounts the things that a believer of the
Messiah could expect. But he also gave us a plan
on how to protect ourselves from the enemy that
seeks to destroy us.
In
his letter to the Ephesians he wrote,
<blockquote
cite=“https://www.youversion.com/bible/1/eph.6.kjv”>“Put
on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able
to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we
wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high
places.”</blockquote> He went on to tell us what
makes up the armor of God: the belt of truth,
the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness
of the gospel of peace fitted on our feet, the
shield of faith, the helmet of righteousness,
and the sword of the Spirit <blockquote
cite=“https://www.youversion.com/bible/1/eph.6.kjv”>“which
is the word of God.”</blockquote>
When
you immerse yourself in the scriptures, the Word
of God, you are taking up a sword that can
defeat any giant, any enemy, that may come up
against you.

Greatest Roadmap Ever Written
|
|
The
most significant tool, or roadmap, that could
ever have been put into writing, has been given
directly to us by its Author. Over and over
throughout scripture, we are told why it is
important to study this roadmap. What makes
reading and studying the Bible so important?
Here are some truths to keep in mind about the
Word of God, and how the Bible can equip you and
direct you on your journey:
•
You
are a disciple of Jesus (John 8:31)
•
It is
truth <blockquote
cite=“https://www.youversion.com/bible/1/jhn.8.kjv”>“and
the truth shall make you free”</blockquote>
(John 17:17; John 8:32)
•
It
will build up your faith (Acts 20:32; Romans
10:17)
•
It
will give you life (John 6:63)
•
It
will teach and encourage you as it gives you
hope (Romans 15:4)
•
It is
alive (John 1:1)
•
It
will provide you with success and well-being
(Joshua 1:8)
•
It
will feed you (Matthew 4:4)
•
It is
an act of love (John 14:23-24)
•
It is
a seed (Luke 8:11)
These
are just a few select truths that stand out from
the living, breathing Word of God. As you dig in
deeper, you will find out for yourself what
promises and truth is interspersed throughout
the pages of the Bible.

Sharing the Message
|
|
As
wonderful as the message of the Bible is, it is
not enough to keep it to ourselves, which is why
we have made it available to you in an online
version. In this same manner, we ask that you
would share it as well. Tell your family and
friends about this free online version of the
KJV Bible so they may, too, share in the
promises of the Word of God.
Many
may think they do not have a particular calling
or assignment in this life, that they are merely
just floating along, that missionaries are only
those who are sent into the wilds of the
unreached parts of the world. But that couldn’t
be further from the truth. The truth is, you
have been given a great mission to carry out,
commissioned by Jesus himself.
What
He spoke to His close-knit team over 2,000 years
ago still rings true today: <blockquote
cite=“https://www.youversion.com/bible/1/mat.28.kjv”>“Go
ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe
all things whatsoever I have commanded
you.”</blockquote>
So
take this resource, this online Bible, and go into the world
and tell them that The Gospel Saves.
